As we all know, a church is not a building, but it's the people who built, worship, and fellowship in that building that gives the bricks and mortar life.
On this page, we will show the Church of the Holy Cross  at work and play.  As the year goes along, we'll add pictures of the congregation  participating in various parish events.  This page will be updated as pictures become available.

These pictures were taken at the recent Rogation Day observance at Holy Cross on Sunday April 27, 2008.  On this day which is considered a day to thank God for the land  and the plants and crops grown in it, the parish gathered in the courtyard to bless the Historic Landmark plaque awarded Holy Cross by the History and Landmarks Foundation as well ask God's blessing on the Holy Cross buildings and land as well as flowers that are distributed to the congregation.

Two of Holy Cross'  Acolytes assisted in the 10:30 am service as well as the Rogation Day Observance.
The young man is holding the "boat" which holds the incense used  in purifying the altar  and the congregation during the service , while the young lady is holding the cross that goes before the  choir and altar party at the beginning and end of the Mass.

These children are part of the Holy Cross Sunday School which has recently been restored.  Some of these kids are also members of the new Holy Cross Children's Choir  which was formed by Choirmaster Phil Cynar in 2007.  In its short existence, the Children's  Choir has been featured in the parish's Christmas and Easter Services as well as selected  regular Sunday Services.  The Congregation has given these kids a lot of positive support, and they are very happy to be a part of the worship experience at Holy Cross.

Holy Cross has a Picasa Web gallery full of pictures taken during recent and past events that  we didn't have time to include in the website. They are located at  http://picasaweb.google.com/chcpgh
